BIKING AND RAFTING IN THE JUNGLE 4D/3N

This Jungle Expedition in Peru with Biking and Rafting is designed for people who love adventure and Nature, this tour combines night walks, jungle exploration, bird watching, visit to the parrot and macaw clay lick, boat sailing, survival lessons, visit to a small oxbow lake, visit the “lek” of the Peruvian National Bird with biking and rafting in the Jungle of the Cultural Zone of Manu National Park.

TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Cusco - Paucartambo - Accjanaco - Cloud Forest - San Pedro:

this tour starts in Cusco at 5am, after drive 3 hours in a half we will reach the border of Manu National Park called Abra of Accjanaco which is found at 3655 meters over the sea. From this point we start to go down by bike passing through the cloud forest, which is an area rich in endemic species such as the spectacular “Andean Bear” and  “The Cook of the Rock”  (The Peruvian National Bird), “Orquis”, “Bromelias” and “Ferns” etc. Then in San Pedro we will visit a lek of the “Andean Cook of the Rocks”, in which these birds every morning and afternoon mate during a very interesting dance called “Displays”.
After this impressive experience we will go to the lodge in San Pedro where our delicious dinner will be waiting.

OPTION: This night it is possible to have a night walk, where we have an opportunity to see many species of frog and nocturnal insects.

DAY 2: San Pedro - Pilcopata - Ccoñec Canyon - Atalaya - Madre de Dios River - Mashkotania:

Before having our breakfast we will go back to visit the lek of the “Cook of the Rock” where we are going to have a new opportunity to see them making “Displays”. With more knowledge about these birds we can now return to the lodge, where we have a delicious breakfast. A few hours later we will continue going down by car to the town where we will start rafting in Pilcopata river (class II) passing through the Ccoñec Canyon, where we also have the opportunity to swim. In Atalaya our boat is going to wait to drive us to our lodge which is found one hour down river.  where we relax and get new water resources to be able to take a one hour walk through the forest.
With luck, during this walk we will have a possibility to see some Monkeys, Macaws, and Toucans. On the way back we will have a night walk. During this walk we can see spiders, lizards, frogs and tarantulas. After this impressive experience we go back to the lodge where our delicious dinner is waiting.

DAY 3 :- Mashkkotania lodge - Teparo river:

We walk through the jungle to Teparo River , bringing our  food (jungle food). On the way we will see  many different kinds of animals; such as collared peccaries, monkeys, coati, macaws, eagles, parrots, toucans, medicinal plants, flowers, and the giant trees of the jungle. On the arrival we will swim in the river and fishing, After this we  have to walk back to the lodge where we are going to spend the last night.

OPTION: we can spent this night in tents in a river bank where we can rise a bonfire and cook roast marshmallows.

DAY4: Mashkkotania lodge - Macaw Clay lick - Back to Cusco:

We will get up early to visit a parrot clay lick where we can see three types of Macaws, parrots and Parakeets. After this we will return to Atalaya by boat where our private bus will be waiting to take us back to Cusco by the cloud forest and Paucartambo.  We will arrive back in Cusco in the late afternoon.
